I first began building web sites before there were graphical browsers, and I've been doing it almost every day since then. My web clients have included major corporations, small businesses, educational & non-profit organizations, and independent artists. In addition to the usual tech skills, I have a diverse background in the arts, audio engineering, publishing, broadcasting, and the humanities. I work well in team environments and am self-disciplined. I have extensive experience in monthly production cycles, am detail oriented, and quality conscious. I have managed complex, long-term projects.

I have extensive experience with site & info architecture, interface creation for traditional and commerce sites, as well as the design and preparation of data retrieval templates. Form should follow function, and a site's beauty is as much about how 'friendly' it is as the aesthetics. Every site should not only be intuitive to use, but also allow one to get to any other point as simply as possible.

I am expert in HTML 3.2 and 4 (including Netscape and Microsoft extensions), cross-browser issues, and the implementation of high precision design standards. I am comfortable working with all standard web technology on both Macintosh and Windows platforms. Experience working with Unix. I'm familiar with Style Sheets, JavaScript, ASP, META tags, forms & frames, cookies, and trained in the use of multimedia tools such as Director and RealVideo. (See also: graphics.) Current studies include DHTML, Flash, and SMIL.

I am expert in web optimization, and have trained numerous designers in this arcane art. Proficient with Photoshop, Debabelizer, Director, RealMedia, etc.; some experience with Illustrator and Quark. In addition to online design, I have a lengthy background in the design of fliers and posters. I am also very comfortable working closely with designers to realize challenging concepts for the web. Working familiarity with Microsoft brand requirements.
